"GROW YOUR OWN" - RECRUITMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Home is seeking expression of interest from prospective employees to participate in its “grow your own” project.

Participants will be referred for training in the CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support to ensure an understanding of the requirements of working in aged care.

SCREENING CONCIERGE POSITIONS AVAILABLE - TEMPORARY CASUAL

The Good Shepherd Home has multiple Screening Concierge positions currently available in a casual capacity.

The primary role for the position is to screen and temperature check all those who enter on site including but not limited to staff, visitors and contractors as per the expected legislative requirements. As the first point of contact for TGSH, the Screening Concierge needs to focus on the quality of service and presenting in a friendly and professional manner.

Shifts are available 7 days a week between the hours of 5:30am and 5:00pm. Weekend availability is required.

Required attributes include:

  • Ability to use technology for accurate, and efficient data entry
  • Customer Service
  • Communicate effectively and professionally

Participants must be able to meet the following:

Registered Nurses / Enrolled Nurses

Applicants must be committed to promoting maximum resident independence and leading care staff in providing individualised contemporary practice Gerontological care.

 Current AHPRA registration, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care and services for aged persons within a residential home-like care environment are essential.

Resident Care Assistants (RCA)

Applicants must be flexible individuals with compassionate qualities and broad availability. Under the supervision of a Registered or Enrolled Nurse, the Home’s multi-skilled RCA delivers direct resident care that supports their dignity and provides for social, physical, spiritual, cultural and emotional needs. Successful applicants will possess the following:
  • Ability to follow written procedures and industry guidelines
  • High level communication skills to interact with Residents, visitors, supervisors and other employees
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Ability to provide individualised care within a homelike environment
  • Certificate III or IV in Residential Aged Care is advantageous.

Hotel Services: Catering, Cleaning and Laundry 

The Hotel Services staff play a pivotal role in meeting the support services needs of the Home. Under the supervision of a team leader, the Home's multi-skilled Hotel Services staff deliver high level catering, cleaning and laundry services to the Home's residents in accordance with resident needs and related policies and procedures.

Applicants must be enthusiastic, with:
  • Good flexibility and broad availability
  • Enjoy working within an aged care environment
  • Have good organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Similar experience in a hospital or Aged Care facility may be advantageous
